
Brett A. Dunn was appointed to his current role in June 2025. He is responsible for developing and managing the University’s official budget, which includes setting fee rates, constructing the budget, and overseeing financial shared services such as accounting, payroll, invoicing, and financial analysis and reporting for University Administration (UA) units.
Before joining Indiana University, Brett spent 20 years with the Department of Defense in various financial management and budget oversight roles. He also served 24 years in the Indiana Army National Guard, where he led financial operations across the Middle East during multiple deployments.
Brett earned a B.S. in Operations Management and an MBA in Finance from the IU Kelley School of Business and is a Certified Management Accountant.
