Biography
Steve was made HR Business Partner for the Finance division in August 2019, after previously serving as the Director of Customer Service, Training, and Payroll Operations within what is now the Office of the University Controller. Steve is responsible for developing and executing the division’s human capital efforts and executing university initiatives in alignment with HR goals.
He studied chemistry at Purdue University, where he graduated with a BS in 1990. He then moved to Bloomington to study law and business at Indiana University, where he graduated with a JD/MBA in 1994. After joining the Indiana Bar in 1994, Steve worked in a variety of legal and business positions, gaining experience in payroll and benefits, business operations, contracts and transactions, finance, compliance, employment law, and litigation. Before coming to Indiana University in August 2015, Steve worked as the COO of a small Bloomington investment company that focused on software-as-a-service applications.
